Dear Parent/Carer,

As part of our transition programme into KS1, Opal and Pearl class will join Celebration Assembly from Summer Term. Assemblies take place each Friday at 9:05am from April.

When will my child receive an award?
Parents/Carers will be informed of their child’s achievement and will receive an invitation to join the assembly audience via a ParentMail message prior to the assembly taking place. All  families are invited to join and support the assemblies even if it is not the week that your child is being presented with an award.

Anchor Awards: Empowerment, Purpose, Belonging and Achieving make up our Anchor Resilience Wheel. These are the four certificates to collect to make up the wheel.

Reading Awards: Bronze, Silver & Gold awards are presented for reading 10, 20, and 30 books, completed books should be recorded in your child’s home/school reading record.

Learning Certificates: Each week the Class Teacher will select two children who are working well and making great progress within an area of the Early Years Curriculum.

Star Charts: Children will  have the opportunity to receive their Yellow Star Award once they have been awarded 10 stars on their class star chart. Stars will be awarded by the class teacher for excellent work.

House Points: All children in the school have  been assigned to one of the four ‘houses’ Hodgkin, Lynch, Tull, or Wakefield. They will be able to collect house points awarded to them by their teacher or a member of the Leadership Team. All points are added up and the weekly winning house is awarded with the House Trophy.

Attendance: The class with the best attendance gets to keep The Attendance Cuddly Rabbit  in their class for the week.

We look forward to welcoming you into our assemblies over the duration of the Summer Term and hope that you will be able to join us.

Yours sincerely,
Christina Georgiades | Opal Class Teacher & Year 1/EYFS Leader
