Dear Parent/Carer,

To celebrate the King’s Coronation we have planned an afternoon of activities which will take place on Friday 5th May

We need as many parents/carers as possible to come and support on this day. Please speak with your child’s class teacher if you are able to volunteer.

Whole School: Dress in Red/White/Blue | £2 Donation
All children and staff are invited to come to school dressed in red/white/blue, we are asking for a £2 donation in order to fund the day. Over the next few days all children will be making a crown in class which they will wear at their lunch party.

Coronation Card Competition – A template will be sent home for all children who are invited to design a Coronation Card with an internal message to King Charles III.  These will be displayed in the school. The winning designs will be selected on the event day, please submit your card to your Teacher by Thursday 4th May. Remember to include your name and class on the back.

Reception to Year 6 Children will have an outdoor lunch (weather permitting)
School meal on this day is themed ‘The Great Coronation Lunch’. If your child usually has a packed lunch and they would like a school meal on this day please inform a member of staff at the Main Office. Following lunch all children will go onto the school field until 3pm to take part in a number of outdoor games and activities including the inflatable obstacle course (socks must be worn).

Nursery parties will take place at 10:15am and 1:50pm
Families are invited to join in with party games and activities during the party taking place in their child’s Nursery session. In addition to the usual lunch arrangements, Olive Dining will provide picnic style snacks. Please note that we are unable to accept additional food to share due to allergy and dietary requirements.

Forest School & Swimming are cancelled to accommodate the events for this day.

Volunteers as previously mentioned we really do need lots of parent/carer/adult volunteers to support on the day including: setting up activities, supporting during lunch and activities, helping to tidy after activities and generally being part of this exciting community event. Any amount of time that you can offer between 10:00 – 16:30 would be greatly appreciated.

We look forward to seeing lots of you there,

Yours sincerely,
Julie D’Abreu | Headteacher
