Dear Parents/Carers

As you are aware there has been a consultation for Devonshire Hill to have a School Street to make coming to and from school safer for our families. In anticipation of this being successful, and it being the summer term, we are encouraging our children to come to school on their bikes and scooters.

Bikes and scooters can be left here in school during the day (at your own risk). We advise that you have a lock for your bike (if your child is in Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 especially) so that it is made secure during the day. The school also encourages the use of cycle helmets when using bikes/scooters.

To enable children to ride safely onto the school site we are, from tomorrow, using the double front playground gates only for access at 8:45am and exit at 3:15pm to school.  Please note that the main gates leading to the main office will be kept closed at this time.

We hope to encourage as many children as possible to cycle and scooter to school.

Please note that the school is not insured for leaving a bicycle/scooter at school and cannot accept any responsibility for it whilst it is on the school site.
